This two (2) hour keynote presentation will take place Sunday morning, April 25, 2010 from 9am-11am at the HT CA 4th Annual Regional Symposium in San Diego (www.HealingTouchCalifornia.com for more Symposium info). . Included will be a Power Point presentation of images of cells and pertinent information about healing at the cellular level, and short video of brain wave testing of the presenter during a healing session.
Author of Cell-Level Healing: The Bridge from Soul to Cell (pub date: 10.06; now in seven foreign editions), biophysicist, Joyce Hawkes, Ph.D. has made cell biology understandable and useful in healing. Her unique contribution includes how to work with cells in a conscious way based on solid science and decades of experience in applying those tools for healing. Joyce’s insights provide ways to find the interface between consciousness and the body and practical means of making that connection for health and vitality.

Following her near-death-experience, Joyce changed careers in 1984 and began an extensive study of spiritual and healing traditions. She completed a Masters Degree at Seattle University in Pastoral Ministry (including Pastoral Counseling) in 1989. Embarking on a three month sojourn in the Philippines to work with a native healer, she began her exploration of SE Asian healing traditions.
Joyce continued her study and work with a month-long stay in south India and six trips to Bali during a 10 year period, immersing herself in learning from indigenous healers.
A productive research biophysicist for more than 15 years, Joyce Hawkes’ accomplishments include:

- Postdoctoral Fellow 1971-1974. National Institutes of Health at the Oregon Regional Primate Research Center, Beaverton OR
- 1976-1984. Supervisory Research Scientist for the National Marine Fisheries Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Seattle, WA
- Concurrent with above NOAA appointment: Adjunct Assistant Professor, University of Washington, Department of Biology.
- Fellow in AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) 1981-current.

Nearly 14 years ago, Janet Mentgen gave Linda Smith the task of setting up another division of the Healing Touch Program geared for those who wanted a language that would be specific for healing ministries. Today the Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry (HTSM) approach is part of an educational institute (Institute for Spiritual Healing and Aromatherapy - ISHA) that now offers two certification programs, one in energy healing and one in aromatherapy.
This is more than a story–you will learn how HTSM evolved from and today expands the Healing Touch Community worldwide. Linda and Claramae will share with you some of HTSM’s unique approaches to the work of Healing Touch which we have all come to cherish.
Linda is the author of three self-published books:
- Healing Oils Healing Hands, Discovering the Power of Prayer, Hands On Healing, and Anointing (2003),
- Called into Healing, Reclaiming our Judeo-Christian Legacy of Healing Touch Revised Ed., (2006)
- Essential Oils for Physical, Emotional and Spiritual Health, (2005).
In addition she has authored 5 e-books and hundreds of free articles on the internet.

Claramae has been a part of Healing Touch since the early days and was among the first HT certified practitioners and instructors. Like Linda she aided Janet Mentgen as Janet developed her Healing Touch Program. For the past several years Claramae has been an instructor with Linda Smith and has assisted her in developing the Institute of Spiritual Healing and Aromatherapy. Claramae teaches in both the Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry program and in the Certification in Clinical Aromatherapy program. She has also been involved in the development of HT California since 2007, generously volunteering on the Symposium Committee each year and currently is serving on the newly formed HT CA Non-profit Board of Directors.
Both Linda and Claramae will take part in Anointing of Hands for all Symposium attendees during the Closing Ceremony

Linda Smith, RN, MS, HN-BC, HTCP, HTSM-CP/I, CCA
Linda Smith RN, MS, HN-BC, HTCP, CCA is the creator and director of the Institute of Spiritual Healing & Aromatherapy and teaches nationally and internationally in both the Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry program and in the Certification in Clinical Aromatherapy program. Her vision is to bring hands-on healing back into our Christian communities. She delights in seeing the “light” go on in people’s eyes as they remember at some deep level that they are loved, that God means for them to be healed and that they in turn can help others move toward healing.
She has spent most of her life in church work as a nurse and teacher. Her health care background includes critical care nursing, nursing education, and home health and hospice care; her specialty is in compassionate care of the dying. She is certified in Holistic Nursing, Healing Touch and Clinical Aromatherapy. Presently she has a private practice in Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry and aromatherapy in the Denver Colorado area. In 1992, Linda was selected Holistic Nurse of the Year by the American Holistic Nurses Association for the outstanding example she presents in the healing arts. Over the past 15 years, she has taught nearly 500 workshops on healing. As a nurse-healer, teacher, mentor, and spiritual advisor, she has inspired many with her passion to restore healing to our Christian churches and ministries.

Claramae Weber, RN, HN-BC, CHTP, HTSM-CP/I, CCA is a certified holistic nurse with a wide variety of experiences. Having lived and travelled extensively in the world, she has a profound awareness of the oneness of us all. Fluent in Spanish, she is involved with bi-lingual and Spanish-speaking communities in California. Claramae has extensive teaching expertise in Creative Visualization. Her work reflects her ability to support each person’s discovery of their own spiritual healing energy.

There will be 2 hours of lecture plus 2 hours of practical experience.
The book: Heart of Marketing, Love Your Customers and They Will Love You Back by Judith Sherven and Jim Sniechowski, will be sold during the Symposium by the on-site vendor Paradise Found Bookstore and Gifts.
Linda has developed this workshop knowing that: You take a course in Healing Touch, Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry or Healing Touch for Animals and by the end of the first morning you are inspired, and by the end of the day, you know that you found the next step on your path in life. You begin your passionate life’s work based in your new-found healing knowledge. You have dreams of establishing a practice and being of service to others. You just know you have found the work of your heart. You set up a healing practice and then you wait… and then you wait.
Disappointment may set in-why is it that no one comes? What have I done “wrong” or what haven’t I done right to show people what I have to offer in the way of healing?
This four hour post-Symposium workshop will help you identify how “hard-sell” marketing techniques simply don’t work in healing practices but “soft-sell” does. Being in a healing practice is a spiritual process. It is tapping into the love that you are and allowing it to be your magnetic attraction. We begin by identifying your “core” business, core competencies and who your audience is, then examine your marketing identity and how soft sell marketing fits a heart-centered healing approach. Next, we will look at selling and how selling is “spiritual service.” A healing practice needs to be run as a soul-based business which is fundamental to achieving the level of success and satisfaction that you are after.
What is your life’s mission? What is the spiritual significance of money? What holds you back from being a financial success? This workshop will help you craft your message and draw abundance into the equation.
You will be inspired with new energy for your healing practice.
Here are the objectives for the skill practice portion of the post-conference:
- Craft your message in your business cards, brochures, web sites, etc.-anything you want to put into print;
- Identify your beliefs about marketing and what is working and not working for you;
- Identify your core business and core competencies;

- Plan your products and services you want to create;
